I’m with you! My feeling is that Ai is taking over because it generally is less expensive from a management point of view . With kiosks, and chat bits, management no longer needs to hire and train new employees. They no longer need to pay salary, benefits, etc. I can’t stand calling an office or store, and I get stuck repeating over and over again “representative!” Even when I press all the right numbers, and give all the right verbal answers to the chat bot, I will eventually get transferred to a live agent/representative, but, I’ll need to repeat all the info I already gave, as nothing transferred to the new connected live person! I find it’s intolerable when it comes to reaching a Dr., NP, or PA. Portals seem to be the only way to communicate. No longer will a Dr be able to call you back. I know they are extremely busy with all the clinical notes they need to write into the system. It’s sad, and it’s getting worse. Even at some restaurants a customer must use an app or a kiosk to order food. I’m a senior, and there is absolutely no help for us when we don’t understand how to to use constantly changing technology. Take care Dr Hand! Stay well!
Thank you for sharing your frustrating airport experience with us.. I’m sorry you had to deal with all that - wishing you better times ahead on future airline trips! All the best to you!
Well said, Dr. Dhand. This leaves many behind in our society, especially the non-tech savvy folks over the age of 65. I am sure it is by design to marginalize the wisdom class.
I really hate the restaurant kiosk because generally you can’t use cash, forcing the use of credit or debit card. I usually will not patronize those establishments.
We have allowed this. We have to stop complying and spending our dollars where it isn't respected.
For instance Malwart is fast changing to scan only codes on merchandise- no more price signs or prices on tags. This way they can change prices at the tap of a computer input.
Consequently, you want to know the price, YOU have to use your phone to scan it.
One commenter said let's just refuse doing their labor. Fill up your cart and take to the registers. Scan there and then decide to leave the items (full cart) for them to put away.
If the masses would just pull a version of Portland, this crap would stop.
It is why we have decided to stay out of the brick buildings of sick care. Do our best to stay healthy, no more relying on the system of insur and system requirements of unnecessary tests. We don't travel, but the system to help others has failed on so many levels as of late.
I just read your 15 October 2025 newsletter about our increasingly impersonal automated and honestly lonely our world has definitely become. It feels as if we’re racing blindly into oblivion or Hellscape of extinction for our species. I’ve had every feeling you’ve given voice to Dr Suneel so I cried to see it all written down and described so succinctly by you! I thought perhaps my expectations of a human looking out thru almost 80 year old eyes was making me unreasonable to yearn for that humanity or compassion of human contact but I’m not unreasonable to disdain this stupid shift to all of Un becoming invisible. No wonder our fight or flight stress hormones are tearing up our cardiovascular system. We are “feeling” an impending extinction of what being human means. It’s a wailing siren at this point.
I've gotten several anti-VEGF injections into one eye for macular degeneration, and the last one was awful - a white fog covered my vision and a couple hours later I also had extreme pain. The doctor's office was closed, and they had no one on call. I called the office the next day. Two different young nurses called me back but were clueless. I never heard from the retinal specialist and doubt he was even informed. No one answers the help line, and I have to wait hours to get a call back. The doctor cannot be bothered to provide any advice. He has his harem of young nurses to do everything except the injections. He must make $1000's each day. I've had similar experiences at a new cardiology office and with a new optometrist. Is this normal behavior??
This is the new normal, Anne. It is so eery to see your post. I have been getting injections in both eyes for about a year, and just yesterday I cancelled my appointment and will not be making another, as I have been worrying about adverse side-effects. I have decided these shots are too risky, as your experience has just proven. I sincerely hope your eye has recovered and you don't have any lasting ill effects.
I agree with you, Jacque. I refuse the shots and have relied on supplements for the past 15 years. My sister, who got the shots, is blind now, but my eye sight is pretty good. We must take control of our own health!
Hi Carol, Which supplements do you take? Have you seen a naturopath? The retinal specialist told me I could lose my central vision soon if I don't get the jabs. They really know how to mess with your mind.
I have a degenerative eye disease according to my eye doctor. I went on a carnivore diet with vitamin D collagen K2 and my thyroid medicine and I have been doing great for the last three years even though I am 84 years of age now. My eyes have barely changed. I’m going to continue doing what I’m doing no shots for me. Very seldom ever go to the doctor. I use Dr. Dhand by phone. He checks my labs that I send him. He is great!
Oh, Carol, I'm so sorry about your sister. My sister just got her first injection a couple of weeks ago, but it will guarantee she continues if I recommend she stop. lol I got the first one in the right eye in April 2023 and the left in November 2024. My last one was in early September of this year and I will not get any more. I have been taking supplements for years and will continue, along with cleaning up my diet, attempting to eat as many organic foods as I can and minimizing processed foods. I admire you for also taking control of your own health! All the best to you.
Jacque and Carol, I just watched 2 presentations online at NaturalHealth365 (now over) by Dr. Thomas Lewis and Dr. Edward C. Kondrot. They both advise against the eye injections that don't treat the underlying cause. Dr. Thomas said the anti-VEGF medication travels throughout the body! Find Dr. Thomas at: HealthRevivalPartners.com; Dr. Kondrat at HealingTheEye.com
Anne, thank you, but I saw that and it is exactly why I immediately stopped my injections, especially since I had already been having doubts about their safety.
I will wait for a person at the supermarket even if it's the only checkout open and I have two items. The one time there were no checkouts at all open I broke the self checkout scale. Clumsy me. I have seen from the start that the people who work at the supermarket aren't getting another job in my town. Once it's gone it's gone. And as a human checkout user I have observed that for some people that few minutes is the only human contact they get. I bet the government will try to create some sort of job to offer human contact that people won't want, and give the contract to their cronies, once again wasting our taxes to do it. But it's probably just better to do what I do if you can.
Agree, everything is so impersonal these days - nothing beats a lovely 😃 smile. I received a text message from my surgery three days ago informing me that my recent cholesterol test showed a very high level of cholesterol. I haven’t been tested since October 2024 so how they reached this conclusion is a mystery especially when they advised taking a statin last prescribed in 2023 with my current statin. Sent a reply but no one has contacted me as yet! It truly beggars belief and have decided not to take any statins at all. Shouldn’t be surprised as my husband suffered a stroke in February and our Dr. to this date has not phoned him and we have been with our practice since our marriage in 1968….what a cold world we are living in but thank you Dr. Dhand for your compassion and caring.🏴🇬🇧
Spot on, Dr Dhand. We are all experiencing the ever-increasing coldness of society. Technology is a two-sided sword, particularly the internet and cell phones.

Thanks for this comment Tina!

Yeah, I got transferred to a supervisor at UPS for a billing issue on my account that spoke, best as I can determine, cantonese.
The conversation didn’t last long.
Grrrr 😖
Oops, sorry, I meant to type Dr. Dhand!
I absolutely agree with everything
you said!!! It’s awful!
Well said, Dr. Dhand. This leaves many behind in our society, especially the non-tech savvy folks over the age of 65. I am sure it is by design to marginalize the wisdom class.
Everything is such hard work these days ☹️
Well said, Margaret!
With all due respect, Dr. Dhand, I believe that you and many others have failed to see what these new hoops we all must jump through are really about.
You say "Let’s call it what it is: this is a total loss of human interaction."
I say "Let’s call it what it really is: this is a move towards total control of humanity."
Sadly, this is happening in more areas of our lives every day, and it isn't going to stop unless people wake up and start just saying NO!!
I really hate the restaurant kiosk because generally you can’t use cash, forcing the use of credit or debit card. I usually will not patronize those establishments.

Well people keep complying, not me but I am one of few
I am an other one, Maggie.
